Sprout Poem by Danette Frenz

Sprout

Stalk of wheat did sprout.
From my heart, it spread throughout
Took root, from rock to soil
Pain began to slowly coil.
All I wanted
Was joy undaunted.
Seeds of love sown…
Like a glove…sewn.
Thought I knew
As it grew
It’d blossom
Into an awesome
Little rose.
But it slowly wilted…
I was even jilted
And lost my baby rose.
Who knows?
From all this rain, nature’s pain
I did gain, strength remained.
Need to focus on me,
Now that’s what I can see.
Take my meds to stabilize
I need sleep, I realize.
Exercise to help my mood,
Endorphins running-oh so good!
Finish school,
To subdue
My highs and lows
What life does throw.
One day, I hope and pray,
For my little sunshine ray,
Baby rose and all that glows…
Instead of pain and life’s woes.
