It's funny how
anything that has to do with spring
will always make me think of you
Simple things like
the color of the sky
& if you leave me I'd be blue
Like the butterflies I'd catch
& never want to let them go
because to me
they're like your love
they'll get away if I don't hold
& the light rain showers
to me were always cute
because every droplet helped me identify
a reason that I loved you
& the sunshine that woke me everyday
left me eager to see your face
'cause it reminds me of how happy you make me
even if you're far away
& when the birds sing
even if it is only in movies
I still remember the sweetest things that you've ever said to me
because it's so relaxing & beautiful
that only your words can compare
like I can really sit & reminisce as if you were standing right there
Every beautiful flower
only compliments your looks
& their sweet scent
like the thought of you
will forever have me hooked
& even when 1 day ends
as morning fades to night
it reminds me of when first met & you used to wink at me
I smile & wink back
our love is like the spring
