'Sitting, Waiting' Poem by NiQi Deveaux

'Sitting, Waiting'

Rating: 5.0

Blue and yellow mingling here
In the spring of a rebirth
It's not new life, but continuation
Springing from the earth

Like you and I in this lifetime
What we've got only appears new
But it started with the beginning of time
In this illusion hard to see through.

Take off your blinders and focus now
I know you'll see it so clearly
That you and I have always been one
With a clearly unique unity

I wait along the side of the road
Smelling every flower
While I wait for you to catch me
I'm counting down the hours

And when I see you in my view
I stand and move along
Waiting for your sprinting
I know it won't be long

Til you come right up beside me
I hear your footsteps drawing near
You'll take my hand and clasp it tight
With nothing left to fear

I'll sigh a breath of great relief
And release this nervous heart
And know that once and for all time
We can't be torn apart....
