Singing The Blues Poem by Patricia Kelley

Singing The Blues

I've heard that line so many times before.
You don't know how many men I've pushed out the door.
Or how many hearts I left on the floor.
It's the same old line.
I've been here before.
You can't fool this ole gal that's been there before.
I've had guys that treated me like a queen and opened the door.
And I had those that slammed the door.
I've been left with a broken heart so many times before.
I have the scars to prove I've been there before.
It's always the same old line played before.
It's just different faces that pass through the same old door.
It's when my heart breaks and I'm left singing the blues like as before.
