Simple Life Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Simple Life

Rating: 5.0

Why I find no change?
Still same people but old in age
Moving in peaceful manner
Trade as usual for outsider

Nothing has moved
Same houses and streets
Old people look after homes
Young ones are out or abroad to earn

I visit after almost five decades
Same old tradition and trades
Tailors, cobblers and vendors
Same routine for visiting door to door

Even though the life style has not changed
The new generation has skillfully managed
They have found no future with old roots
They want new plants, new flowers and new routes too

Living has become little costly
But it has been accepted by mostly
The world has moved beyond their imagination
There is not much to talk and raise the questions

Simple living and simple thoughts
Same morning schedule after night
No one rushes for job to commute the train or bus
Life is spent with happiness and trust

Each individual has recognition
The news spread and person finds accommodation
He has been taken care of with possible aid
Each one is inter dependant without being said
