Ships Sail From Odessa With Grain Poem by Gert Strydom

Ships Sail From Odessa With Grain

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine
the country has taken a crucial measure,
to let the first ship with its own grain,
the crucial food that many people treasure.

The bulk carrier Razoni sails to Lebanon
with twenty six thousand tons of maize,
into the mine filled Black Sea it sails on,
after a agreement and with God's grace,

from Odessa harbour en route to Tripoli.
The Russian, Vladimir Putin, threaten admit this
with hypersonic missiles, with his tyranny,
where the attack on Odessa harbour nobody miss.

For the food crisis Moscow deny responsibility,
while Russian domination is plane for all to see.

2
Three more ships are carrying Ukrainian grain,
are leaving Odessa harbour into the Black Sea
which bring against famine a great opportunity
where about twenty million tons remain.

This do to the restart of the economy appertain,
than in the Ukraine things will better be,
where still they are fighting to be totally free.
It brings hope and attention to Ukraine again;

where this is starting to bring great relief
to countries in Africa and the Middle East
and in the Ukraine people live to win,
while these brave people live with daily grief
but the flow of food from Ukraine did decrease
while people with their lives must over begin.
