Scars Poem by Matt Burgett

Scars

Rating: 5.0

Unknown to the world around
The thoughts that spin in my head
To think to hear the memorial sound
Of the final words I will have ever said

No-one knows the severity
Of the actions by which I have plotted
Against myself and others
A full sheet all but doted

To let go from my grip of this
To slip away and fall
To feel the wind behind me now
I debate to end it all

For what I've worked for I have lost
With scars to remember memories
Like the time in the field of frost
That Is only remembered through my writing

But I have the scars to prove it
And I remember still how it felt
When the angels held me in their hands
So light I should have dealt

A regret I regret to regret
From a choice of destiny
A memory I wish to forget
To remove these scars from me
