Within The Trees Poem by Matt Burgett

Within The Trees

Rating: 5.0

Deep within the mountains
Up on the hill inside the trees
A child searches for something warm
To help so he don't freeze

A run-away with a broken heart
For society he cares no more
A long story straight from the start
Like no other story before

Because in the hills he feels at home
At peace with himself as well
To come back down were people roam
For him is know as Hell

The way they live he finds all wrong
And the way that they write too
He does not care for all the pills
And the effects they have on you

Addictions to them he has had
Plus mental health issues
He likes them not for they messed up
The way he ties his shoes

Poison they are upon the body
They make you week in the knees
They drive you up into the hills
To hide within the trees
