Breakdown 'Rusty Razor-Blades' Poem by Matt Burgett

Breakdown 'Rusty Razor-Blades'

Rating: 4.3

My life feels
Like an empty house full of decay
Never being surprised
When someone decides to betray

And I'm in the middle of a breakdown
In the middle of a fake town
Wishing for eternal fame
Wishing to hear people scream my name

I'm all alone in this place
When everything blows up in my face
Everyone loves someone else
And it never seams to fail
I hope I go to Hell

I'm always crying for a loyal love
To fly in like a mystical dove
To wipe away my tears
And to be with me for many years

And I'm in the middle of a breakdown
Listening to the lovely sound
Of everything crashing down upon my head
Crushing my skull making me dead

Cutting marks into my wrists
And busting holes with my fists
I make eternal escapades
Of horrible pain and rusty razor-blades

But nothing ever happens
Nothing ever works
Everything stays the same
Like a never ending game

Because I'm in the middle of a breakdown
In the middle of a fake town
Cutting lies into my wrist
And pounding the wall with my fist

And these bleeding names are here to stay
Tattooed into me with unbearable pain
To serve me the purpose
Of ending this never-ending game
Of horrible pain and rusty razor-blades

That was incredible. I can completely relate, but aside from that, the structure was flawless and the rhyme scheme, complex and purposeful. Every part of this piece worked together. This is my first of your's to read. I'm supremely impressed.
