Scante Poem by Poetry Falcon

Scante

My greatest love of all was you
Turned my world upside down
I loved your neck glistening under the sun
Your dirty blonde hair glowing in the light
That soft olive skin was a beautiful sight

You made me feel so secure
No one could dare come close
No one's words could harm me anymore
For you were forever my faithful thor

My number one fan
No one will ever love me as you do
For that I bet my life
Still you call me your wife

But how quickly I awoke from that dream
Of everlasting love
My happily ever after
Was a f...... disaster

Your demons were far beyond me
Beyond you and me both
Beyond God's gentle grace
The scante rat race

Not even the gift of life was enough
Not a damn thing changed
Bringing a child into this world
Forced to endure
Your demons which seem to have no cure

You're hopeful for a better tomorrow
A day that will never be
There's just too much to forgive
Excruciating, unbearable pain
The light eclipsed by dreadful memories
Your lies, excuses and worse, your infidelities

But I'm not even angry anymore
My emotions you no longer control
Sometimes I wish I could hate you
It would make life easier
But I can't
For that beautiful young lady
Oh how she loves her daddy
