You And Me Poem by Poetry Falcon

You And Me

You had a bad day
I could tell from the start
Your eyebrows sinking gave you away

I always wonder what it is
That seems to take your momentary joy
Did you get enough sleep?
Or did you have company?

But just like me
You're deeply invested
No one who's moved on
Could care that much
Could let one person steal their joy

But just like me
You're in denial
For she can't give you what you need
Someone to take your weary soul
And gently caress it against their skin

But just like you
I'm in denial
For you don't need me or desire
I'd love to take your weary soul
And make it warm against my skin

Oh what a day that would be.
