Remembrance Of The Things Past Poem by Virginia Drungil

Remembrance Of The Things Past

I. Of the lost time
Unforgettable moments of happiness:

Everything was so bright, blinding and
brilliant; sometimes the beauty was
unbearable-nothing was muted or grey

Everything was illuminated, radiating
light and warmth - or could it just have
been reflection of the moods and whims

Transparent snapshots of the time when
everything possessed a deeper meaning
beyond the surface of the restless hour

Beyond horizon of the immanent
for all eternity to come-

II. Memories

How to escape back into lost time, when
days were bright, and nights lit by stars
when feeling of happiness wasn't vague

Memories of these times long gone still
haunt me time-to-time...ideal beauty of
everyday things was taken for granted

I could reach and touch the surface of the
moment when I felt most alive, at peace
with myself - when I imagined I was part

Of the big beautiful world in the infinite
reaches of my Universe-
