Rarity Of Being Friendly With The Virtuous People!
What a pity! The ignorant people who don't have knowledge
of decency and etiquette spend their life time wastefully
in spite of the chance of getting the friendship wisely
of the virtuous people without much difficulty;
despite the fact of rarity of being friendly with them, even if
offering much gold as the price for getting their friendship!

இருவிகற்ப நேரிசை வெண்பா
பொன்னே கொடுத்தும் புணர்தற் கரியாரைக்
கொன்னே தலைக்கூடப் பெற்றிருந்தும் - அன்னோ
பயனில் பொழுதாக் கழிப்பரே, நல்ல
நயமில் அறிவி னவர்.162 நாலடியார்
