Rage Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Rage

Hate

The hate was unbearable.
The riot raged on.
It was impossible.
I could've called the police.

But the hate inside
Was the riot in my heart.
It's deleterious effects
Ripped my soul apart.

Now the tide turned stronger.
The rage went on longer.
This hate upon hate was impossible to bear.
It ripped me apart.

I now had to turn my back
To this out of control emotion.
I imagined myself with no enemies.
The hatred slowed down in motion.
