Rad World Poem by trebor reyd

Rad World

I am 1400' under
the waves
crawling through tubular steel tendrils
wrapped full circle in my claws
pressed to my mechanical motors
driving me inward
I am driven to be outward
bound
ensconced in blue marvels
barracudas wait at the surface
I dare not rise
for in these depths I am safe
amidst the danger of gases men have died for
I live here
foundering with lead laid to waist
I float here
exhaling noxious notions
I bloat here
with a swelling
telling
yelling in my ear
all stop
command has taken over the dive
relinquish and surface
under these waters
I am alive
