Two Steps Back Poem by trebor reyd

Two Steps Back

Beware of those who don’t conform
Stay in line follow the norm
Comply with all their expectations
It’s worked for many generations

If you stand out or speak of change
You’ll be labeled as deranged
Don’t bother with a creative thought
Your sure to see it’s all for naught

Man has done all he can do
He doesn’t need ideas from you
If it can it has been done
Every good trick under the sun

So if you think of something new
Bury it away share it with few
Here’s a clue a hint an inkling
No one cares what you’re thinking

'Assent and you are sane, dissent and your are dangerous and straightway handled with a chain.' Emily Dickinson Some things do not change while change keeps happening! Thoughtful pen, a downer in your last stanza though.
