Queen Wife Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Queen Wife

She was prize catch
I saw her and reached near
It was bloody battle
With defeat it was now settled

The enemy was routed on ground
The army was on run and not found
It was almost ruined
The enemy was heavily fined

As commander of victorious force
I had sense of satisfaction with no curse
It was deadly silence on the battle field
So many women were caught or held

I could feel easy fear lines
They were made to stand in row or lines
I ordered them to be remarried
The decision was not taken in hurry

My hands were seen with blood
Entire people needed food
It was my duty as commander
Make available that was needed to offer

I picked up one woman
And asked what did she want?
"Journey with honor for rest of the life"
I seized his concern and offered as queen wife
