Prints (Cavatina) Poem by Gert Strydom

Prints (Cavatina)

(after Eve Merriam)

On all my fingers are some tiny whirls,
a own design
that is unique, part of me alone,
as when I sign
in the way I make my name as my imprint;
God did consign
some things like feelings, my flesh and my mind
that a person does in no other find.
