Pretty Betrayal Poem by Tonimario Onyedika Oboshi

Pretty Betrayal

O you cruelest she that is restive
Pretty nice, but taking my secrets away
Should by Jove my heart again goes sway
Calling to itself thy betraying evocations
Then will I erupt in insalutary invectives
Purring melodiously with the music of rejection

Bitten deeply by Cupid’s bug; a good chance
Changed all bits of my moody ambience
But for one short power, cascading in wisdom
My bleeding heart would have whitened in your lair
Or worse evaporate in hopeless doom

O you malignant mind preoccupation
Arousing all the double senses; sensually lenient
To peek into this resonant apparition
Lowly bested in enshrouded naked intent
Thickened beauty, ever melting my resolutions

How can I reach down and grab your cage
Or grapple in fright trying to snatch you in rage
The rhythms of every moving unit here
Rhyming and collating the beats you ever give for sure

For if not for thy ever freshness; thy ever newness
I would have made many mistakes
Many poor choices o Beauty, bless me
Eternally do so with the constancy of your presence
O dear Beauty, ever betraying.
