Poetry Wine Poem by Randy McClave

Poetry Wine

Rating: 5.0

Writing poetry is like drinking wine
It must first mature over time,
Sit down as though you're ready to dine
Should it be free verse, or should it all rhyme.

Choose your pencil or will you use a pen
Then decide where to write,
What inspiration will be your creative gen
And when you drink, is the wine red or white?

Get drunk from your writing with paper in hand
Remember poetry is the soul, and not the mind,
Your creation will be your very own brand
It will open the eyes, to of those who are blind.

Finish your thoughts and then your verses
And then rest your glass,
Will there be cheers, or might there be curses
But, then there might be that inebriated, "alas! "
