Pinned Like A Butterfly Poem by Silence Dogood

Pinned Like A Butterfly

I've never seen a face like yours.
Those Carribean coloured eyes.
My heart is trapped within your love.
Pinned up like butterflies.

Teach me a lesson in romance.
I'll be your pupil of desire.
Light a match inside my chest.
With intent to start a fire.

Rip away my heart.
Tear my life from the seams.
Seperate reality.
From fairytales and dreams.

I left you behind in the rearview mirror.
But I kept on looking back.
Wondering how your life was now.
If your heart was still intact.

Nothing was ever going to be the same.
From the moment I shook my head.
When I whispered words of heartbreak.
And destroyed all that you said.

I wish things had been different.
So we wouldn't feel this pain.
So my shoulders wouldn't bear.
The weight of all this blame.

But now that were together.
With no chance for me to leave.
With two by fours and glue.
To rebuild our house of dreams.

I have to confront the facts.
That you have stolen my heart.
Whether you choose to protect it.
Or break it apart.

Doesn't matter much anymore.
Im weak against your smile.
The slight curve of your lips.
That make it seem worthwhile.
-
I've never seen a face like your.
Those Carribean coloured eyes.
My heart is trapped within your love.
Pinned up like butterflies.
