People Are Afraid To Vote, To Speak Poem by Hebert Logerie

People Are Afraid To Vote, To Speak

Use your VOTE, your voice; or you'll lose it
One day, you and I will be silent
Do not be mute or dormant
Speak out a little bit
At a time. Say more tomorrow
Write a little bit at a time
You won't be sorrow
In this region, it is not a crime
To do so. Do not be afraid to VOTE
Even if you live in a very remote
Area. Make a sacrifice
It is in your best interest
To fulfill duty and responsibilities
Chase the rats, the mice
The monkeys, who cry and tease
Speak out for the rest
Who is unable to tell it like is
Gradually, you will be at ease
With a clear conscience
Because you're giving others a chance
People are afraid to vote, to speak
They prefer to stay mute and meek
Humiliated and shy, ignored and weak
Speak out, speak your mind
Be smart, savvy, fair, just and kind.
