Parrot Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Parrot

You bird you,
Mischievious as ever.
You imitate people's voices.
Then you turn your beak the other way.

You parrot you,
Dancing and prancing on the branch,
Driving trees even crazy.
I wish you were mine

But parrot oh parrot.
You belong in your forest.
You belong flying through,
Tree branches.

Just perch on my eager finger,
For a while please.
