and a new year has come
treading on the paths of tomorrow.

of Bengali year,
how sweet indeed
is your embrace
on the Bengali soul.

is the celebration
of a new beginning
with memories of the past.

let us sing
let us rejoice
let us make merry
and have pantha(rice) and ilish(fish)
for a new year
has begun.
