she said,
darling, loving is not easy
like the way it used to be!

darling
this tried and tested life
is not what it means to be me.

she said,
call me tomorrow
when the world has changed

But darling,
we have lived
a life that is
built upon moments
of mesmerizing memories.


darling,
look at me, she said
for today is a wreck
and tomorrow is a journey
we cannot ruin.

darling,
let the rain come
with its breeze and its pain.

but it won't wash away
the sorrows or the ache

she said,
we have met
on a summer that has long
turned to winter

and the bleakness of agony
that has surpassed our laughter

so we depart
not in tears or in anger
but in our solemn vows
to not suffer
in together.
