Ode To Bobby Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Ode To Bobby

The snow is falling
air so cold.
I hear you calling
Bob, I'm feeling so old.

The hurt runs deep
down into my soul.
Loss so great
taken its toll.

The pain has grabbed me
yet again.
I lost a brother
lost a friend.

I look around
places you knew.
Shadows from the past
so many...so few.

We fought so hard
to get it right.
Sacrificed time with family
worked so many lonely nights.

Spent our lives
giving our all.
Knew the day would come
the one when we might fall.

Your time is gone...
I stand alone.
Wait to follow
wonder how long.

The snow is falling
air so cold.
I hear you calling
Bob, I'm feeling so old.
