Odd Man Out Poem by Poetry Falcon

Odd Man Out

I love how weird you are
So awkwardly awkward
The odd man out
Just like you like to be
Unnoticed
Often misunderstood

Your silence is golden
It speaks volumes to me
Fools the wise owls
What a quiet soul indeed

But it's loud inside
Conundrum of sounds
I know because I'm wretched
The odd one out

The pain is the same
The burden is real
Years of self-hate
Prisoners of our own hell
Bottled emotions
Nobody can see
Feeling is a weakness
Turn that sh- off

But that no longer works for me
This rebirth has made me weak
Starting to emerge
From this bottomless hell
Comfortably numb departed
A Marshall transformation
Love what I once hated
Sit back and let it torture me

But you're still imprisoned
It's clear to see
Wish to remain unnoticed
Misunderstood
Your day will come
Today, a thing of the past
Your pride will no longer do
It fought the good fight

Don't be afraid for it's bittersweet
Momentary bliss
Followed by eternal misery
Conversely maybe
Yet always the odd man out
