Occasional Leader Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Occasional Leader

Believe in me
Yet you are free
To act of your own
With ideology and belief unknown

I never taught
And sought
You people
To get into bloody struggle

For whom did I create universe?
That was made known of course
I left every thing in abundance
Only you were needed to avail chance

These rivers
Along with pure water
Flowed on banks for everybody
To cultivate, drink and live with safety

It was not my message
To spread violence and involve in carnage
Through bombing, shooting and plight
What joy do you get when children die?

I stand as occasional healer
Many preachers act as creator
Speak on my behalf and cheat ignorant people
Who are on earth with no purpose at all?
