Obstacles Poem by Srivishnu Rentala

Obstacles

The beautiful red rose,
even when thorned all the way down
emerged to epitomize pure love.

That pond, despite brewing
with filth and algae,
is still topped
with resplendent lilies.

Those hard, rugged rocks
bares the brunt of a hammer
before it transfigures
into a beautiful statue.

Only after multiple bruises
brought by many falls
do you really learn to ride a bike.

The pleasing, colorful rainbow
manifests elegantly, only
after a raging rain-storm.

That clay pot,
which you caressed with soft hands
takes its true shape
only after a fierce heat firing.

You see, it's time you realize
the ship can set sail
only when undocked.

So in a room of fear,
don't shed your tears.
Don't drown in streams of sorrow,
in hope of a better tomorrow.

Because;
Even that ever blazing sun
can spread its shine
only after passing
through dreary doors of darkness.
