Nothing's Wrong Poem by Robert Mahoney

Nothing's Wrong

Nothing's Wrong
i see it in your eyes, there's something wrong
i see it in your eyes, i sense your pain
i see right through your lies
don't tell me nothing's wrong

CHORUS:
it's painted on your face
the way you walk, the way you talk
the way that you look up at me
and tell me nothing's wrong

i hear the words
but they're only words
just masks to hide behind
i know it hurts
cuz you wear your hurt
so say what's on your mind

CHORUS REPEAT:

you don't have to face it alone
share your thoughts with me, i'll be there
lift the weight from your shoulders
lean on me, i'll help you stand a while
i see you when you think there's no one looking
i see you when you hang your head
and cry

CHORUS REPEAT:

i see it for the lie that it is
of late your smiles are hard to find
so please tell me what's got you down, down
and please tell me what's on your mind
you try to hide away your pain
from the one's who love you
you tell us all that you're okay
but i know that's not true

you can't go on pretending
that you're fine and nothing's wrong
that nothing's got you down
when it's not hard to tell that
something hurts inside

CHORUS REPEAT:

the way that you look up at me
i know that nothing's right
