Nessie And Her Red Lipstick (One Of Three) Poem by Annette Aitken

Nessie And Her Red Lipstick (One Of Three)

Rating: 4.8

Nessie and Her Red lipstick

Across the loch, auld Nessie sits
with morning paper and red lipstick
before the chaser man awake
try take her picture, prove she's not fake.

Now Nessie can be a shy wee thing
she often comes ashore to sing
when all's in bed and zzz'ds(zeds) are flying
her moonlight serenade performance.

While Nessie puts her red lips on
erects her throat up like a swan
her notes emit from doh, rae, me
the cats join chorus of A, B, C's

The white barn owl begins to hoot
the wee gray mouse escapes the boot
the golden eagle takes his seat
while otters produce a tasty feast.

Now Nessie and her red lipstick
will once again give folk the slip
to keep the chaser man deluded
auld Nessie disappears, (concluded) .

I'll wager that red lipstick was put on for a rendezvous with me... unfortunately I was otherwise detained... ;) A delightful tale! And so much so because it shows such a light and humorous side of you and your pen... very well done!

I love humorous poems, a great job, I must admit....I never thought of her with lipstick...maybe a nose ring but not lipstick; -)

My favourite colour too! Blue! Nessie is very elusive. Bet she couldn't hide in your handbag though! mmmm... well. Better check, eh? Very funny Tom
