My Remedy Poem by Taylor Fong

My Remedy

I put the blade against my skin
They don't know the pain I'm in
They don't see the real me
Sometimes I wish I could break free
The blood runs slowly, out my veins
This hurt is holding me down like chains
The blood flowing out is an escape to me
My happy pills, my remedy
No one cares, they don't understand
The smile I wear,
The skin I tear,
They're lives are perfect, why me? It's not fair
Why am I the one with a broken heart?
Why am I the one thats paranoid from the start?
Why am I the one you chose to screw?
Guess my words didn't break through to you
I told you no, why didn't you listen?
Didn't you see my wide eyes glisten?
I was pushing you off, why didn't you stop?
You were close enough to feel my heart drop
By the end of the night, you had all of me
My broken heart, my virginity
I cut to let this torn heart bleed
These are my pills, my remedy.
