My Lord I Call On You Poem by Gert Strydom

My Lord I Call On You

Where Russia does freedom, lives and possessions steal,
plan in BRICS a new global reserve currency
in how it sees the distribution of food should be,
with countries like Iran, Iraq and South Africa do deal,

where to righteous values this does not right feel,
as a South African and Christian this haunts me:
where I do the rape, slaughter and destruction see,
where my own land did not from its past heal

where Turkey do trade with Russia with stolen grain
the thought remains: the Godless do as they will take,
I call on You who rule over everything supreme:
each man, women and child in the Ukraine remain
at odd with those that do gain in their destruction make,
do them and us treat and help and as Your own deem.
