My Lady Bethany Poem by Kat Hanlon

My Lady Bethany

Rating: 4.5

There is my lady
There she is
She on that balcony
She is a beauty
My lady
My lady Bethany

My lady Bethany
Why not let your prince touch your long golden tresses
My lady Bethany
Why not dance in the finest of silk and elegant dresses

Can a man long for you?
For you to be his dear
Can a man long for you?
To console in him your fears

There is my lady
There she is
She on that balcony
She is a beauty
My lady
My lady Bethany

My lady Bethany
Why do you not want me but cry of being alone and bore?
My lady Bethany
Why do you shrug off your prince who humbly yearns more?

Can a man long for you?
As old age grows near
Can a man long for you?
A beauty that is so near
Oh can I long
Oh can I long

This poem reminds me so much of Maya Angelou works. I like the structure and pattern of the piece. Lovely. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
