My Dream Poem by Cindy Thacher

My Dream

I dreamt of celestial beings
with voluminous wings,
Out of utopia they came
where things are not the same,
Radiant, luminary
no illness, no cemetery.

Tears were beginning to flow
bad news I needed to bestow,
A year was left, perhaps more
another predator knocking at my door,
No more questions of why
only a long good-bye.

An illuminous apparition
came, unlike the mortal condition,
And without hesitation
I welcomed the levitation,
Carrying me far away
Ethereal sights to portray.

No more remorseful tears,
No long lasting fears,
No crime, no death, no pain,
No riches to obtain,
No hatred, only peace,
All wars cease.

I then awoke
and though someone spoke,
wondering if this was real
for the voice sounded surreal,
so obscure,
I wasn't sure.

It was only a dream.
