Life's Wonders Poem by Cindy Thacher

Life's Wonders

Through the mind of a pretentious troubadour,
Contemplating thoughts of her endeavor,
Will it be prosaic or full of splendor?
I wonder.

Fervent soldiers return from a frivolous war,
Without reward, a forsaken valor,
Do they ask, 'What are we fighting for? '
I wonder.

A precious child in a luscious candy store,
Meticulously choose one, two, maybe three flavors,
Will they precariously ask for more?
I wonder.

A quiet morning, a quarter to four,
I find myself on the floor,
Can I live like this much more?
I wonder.

Some days while doing my boring chores,
I think of a great helper, maybe a black Labrador,
Reconsidering, would it have been better to live with dinosaurs?
I wonder.

Many people speak of religions they adore,
Others with discord, absolutely abhor,
One day may we calmly discuss with candor?
I wonder.

I lost at love, my heart it tore,
And my passion, down to wrath's deepest core,
What more does life hold in store?
I wonder.
