My Daughter Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

My Daughter

Rating: 2.8

I called my daughter to be near bed side
She was awake whole night and eyes remained wide
She had no full sleep and that was cause of concern
Everybody felt badly in family as it was completely unexpected turn

She had baby boy with abnormality at birth
Everybody prayed for his good health
The things were not proving to be happy
It was leaving behind source of concern and worry

Why doctor had told something unusual?
Was his arrival on this earth not normal?
We were taken by surprise and almost broke
It was cruel blessings and ugly joke

I trust almighty and believe in his judgment
There may be good sign later on and no cause to resent
Yet it left deep scar on our mind for helpless child
He was paralyzed from body and partially blind

“Dear, do you trust in his power and have faith”
I gave her some solace and explained philosophy of death
We are here on this beautiful land for delivering the good
This must be borne in mind and clearly understood

“Whether certain things we like or not”
I added some thing more to be taught
She listened carefully and replied at once
“Dad, worry not this is reality and a given chance”

I stared at her face and thought of her philosophy
How strong faith she had in the power of almighty!
I was cutting sorry figure and here was daughter
A strong philosopher and dedicated mother

“Dad, do you know what happens after death”?
I was sinking in ocean of uncertainty on earth
She was adding further but I remained deep in thoughts
What a blissful changes she had or were brought?

It is rightly said that river finds her way in any case
No blockade can prevent her from rushing with chase
She has to meet her destiny in determined phase
There may be on the path sometimes smooth or hard ways
