Mother's Love Poem by Jacob macharia

Mother's Love

The guy ogled her,
Lured her into his wings,
Overwhelmed her with love,
And the fruit became due.
A bouncing baby boy revived the home,
While poor dad went away hunting.
In her weakest, the growing boy wiped the tears,
In her weariness, he gave her hope and courage,
In anguish, she knew an amazing reliever was underway.
The bandits came over and he stood tall with her,
He vowed with his life to see her alive,
Just wishing dad was within.
Friends mocked, neighbors laughed but their bond got strong with every wake.
The day dawned,
Rich dad, weary, frowned and fed up,
His intuition judging the doting mom,
Came scolding, growing wild at each clock’s tick,
But he got a hard nut to crack…
The son blocked his ways, held high his elbows ready to strike back harder.
Out of the blues tears dripped when he recognized their resemblance...
Where were you when they came?
When mom needed you most,
When living was through God’s favor,
When I longed for a ride on your shoulders to the park,
When I used all sorts of lies to defend you,
And when you reveal yourself,
You come loaded with hell ready to offload…
And you become the stump in our progress.
Why don’t you understand and apologize….
The whole homestead tears befall,
While the ego-led dad ran dumb.
