Moses And God Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Moses And God

Moses and God

Among Persian poems
One can find Hundreds
About God, his actions…

Some direct, straight
Start with: "If I were…"

Some zigzag or divert
And involve the others.

One of best examples
Is the famous poem
About God and Moses.

Not from the Bible!

According to Rumi
Moses sees a shepherd.

Zakani says Moses
Met a Stone Carver…

But result is the same.

Either man acts the same
Each invites God as guest
To come, dine and stay.

Both tell God:
"I watch you and will care."

When Moses hears them
Rejects their plea, way:
"God is not like man to
Need resting, bed, sleep! "

The poor and simple men
Beg kind God for pardon.

God calls on Moses, asks:
"What is this way and path? "

Then God acts as he must
Speaks calm, gives advice:
"You were sent to connect,
Why did you disconnect? "

Moses goes back to men
Being shepherd or carver
Softly tells them: "Listen,
God likes you in your way."

In Iran of those days
Crowned was freedom.

Whenever I am God,
I gather the mullahs,
Must dry this swamp,
Stinking, full of lies.

With turbans, these liars
Steal, rape, and murder!

When am God do judgement,
I do so powerful and honest:
"Go and burn in the hell,
You did wrong in my name,
Court-marshalled innocents! "

With mullahs have come pain
Also, they caused God shame!

Before them in Iran
Respected was Islam.

Now, Islam and mullahs
Are hated by old, young
To unseen, unborn child.

They choked the daily life
For every husband, wife,
Made hate, theft too social!

Yes, mullahs are the cause! ! !
