Moments Of Silence Poem by Jean Dament

Moments Of Silence

For me silence acts like a balm;
When I'm all alone enjoying a nature scene...as it calms,

While looking upon crystal, clear rivers, lakes & streams;
Where time stands still & feels like living in a slow-motion dream,

Other moments of silence are starry nights;
And quiet times of candlelight,

Warm scenes of sun up & sundown,
Cool scenes of snow-laden landscapes out in the country & in town,

Silence becomes 'GOLDEN' when not a whisper is heard,
Neither words nor songs from birds;

While there's not a sound...it's quite profound,
One wonders if their feet is still touching ground;

And you're possibly in a heavenly place;
Where only serenity exists with no noise-not a trace,

There's silence found lost in a good book... that one reaps,
And best of all is the silence & peace found when sound alseep.
