Love Or Hate Poem by Randy McClave

Love Or Hate

Do I love you more than I hate
That subject should come up for a quick debate,
I have loved you since we had first met
But, now some of your actions I want to forget.

Sometimes you are the rising sun
While other times I just want to turn and run,
If each of my hands were a weighing scale
Then the actions to my emotions would foretell.

Many nights I have solemnly wondered
As my mind has both skipped and pondered,
Do I love you or do I hate you more
But, then I have always chosen peace over war.

If my left hand could not outweigh my right
Would I accept that decision or would I fight,
If I hated you more than I loved you would I scoff?
Or would I maybe just cut my right hand off.
