Love And Desire Poem by Shanika marini Paul

Love And Desire

Rating: 5.0

Love

Oh flame
of passion, thou art a beast,
that lingers deep within, thy lustful desire; s feast.
Ay, but the pleasure of one's flesh hungers
like a child never satisfied with love surrender.

Tis, her love cometh to her bosom,
speaking thy heart's craving fusion.
but she, cannot take wing though her heart may desire.
Too many a time hath she played fool to love's selfish game's fire.

Left empty and saddened, no ones to blame.

Thy lips upon hers in a stolen kiss,
for the lips cannot conceal the impassioned bliss.
hearts that can never be one flesh, one blood.
In this birth, life swings in destinies flame.

Content should it be of just a moments pleasure.
then part, and return to another's arms.
awake love and be strong. Awake love and smile
for thou had her, yet, she is no longer hers.

In thy dreams, she shall be thine, and walk with thee.

(written on behalf of a lady friend who was denied of her soul mate)
