you may ask,
what is love?
and somewhere an angel will smile,
and the fragrance of life
will rise free
from the altar of god.

you may ask,
what is love?
and the rivers and the sky
might play your imagination
of a heaven on earth.

you may ask,
what is love?
is it the moments we cherish?
is it the memories we hold dear?
is it the troubles that keeps us awake at night?
is it that unforgettable fire
that burns a slow ember
never to be put out
in a lifetime.
