Love

It makes the most intelligent of people act silly,
It makes the world look pink and frilly.
All troubles of life disappear and...
You know it's around when you wear that Gold band.

You will wish it never chose you,
But you'll be happy when it does.
It will occur over night,
And grab your heart tight.

It will never let you go,
To have and to hold,
You'll fear someone saying ‘no' -
And then... you'll be alone.

For a while you'll cry,
Maybe, you'll want to die.
But then as the grey clouds dissolve,
You'll find a new love; to have and to hold.

A well articulated poem with insight on the nature of love. I concur with the conviction of the poet. A lovely piece indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply
