Something Pink Poem by Chimwemwe kangulero

Something Pink

Rating: 3.0

*Something pink*
My heart yearns, for something pink
Something that won't freeze in the winter
Something pink like the camellia.

I pray for something pink
Not as poisonous as the oleander
Rather as healing as the roseus

Yes I wish for something rosy
As beautiful as the chrysanthemums

Till beyond the moment we invite our mums
To the sound of the church bells
With little girls sprinkling the coral bells
In the elegant shade of pink

May I have something pink
Something that can fly,
Not too high not too low
Just like the scarlet ibis

Please let it be innocent like the carnation
Now hold my hand, walk with me
to the bridge, lets watch the spoonbills
As our lives turn pink.
