Lonely Is My Night Poem by Tim Adams

Lonely Is My Night

Do you know how lonely my nights can be?
When my lips miss the touch of your skin against them, like the night sky without the stars shining.
Like the still waters of an ocean without waves or sound to give it life.
Do you feel how lonely my heart feels when it's not close to yours and it misses the beat it's in tune with?
It gets lonely, no matter how many times my arms have held you, when I hold myself, I wish my arms were yours.
I get lonely, even though you are near, your not here.
I am lonely but not alone.
