Life's Lesson Poem by Xelam Kan™

Life's Lesson

Plain living and
high thinking
are no more...
What a pity that
in life
we only get our lessons
when they are
of no use...
to us.
let's
Accept the pain,
cherish the joys,
resolve the regrets;
then can come
the best of benedictions.
If
I had my life to live over again,
I'd do it
all the same.

Again, I like the right hook expressed through very few words. Nice one.

Sir, would you really make no changes at all? How very fortunate you are! Your poem is intriguing.

howdy poet friend, i sent this to MyPoemList. it is not my favorite, is lacking in rhymes and humour/humor [two things i enjoy a lot when done well], BUT it strikes a note within me. i might just choose to live my life over again in the same manner. i might eat a little more chocolate cake and ice cream, but i know my life, if i were to live it OVER, could be a LOT WORSE than it actually has been. all in all i have lead a contented life. and poemhunter has helped to make my retirement years in america more pleasant. thanks for sharing. happy new year to you. :) bri
