Lies Of The City Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Lies Of The City

Separating funds to try and excuse the outlandish spending of our city council and government.
Attempting to tell us that they can't use money ear-marked for the arts, can't be used to balance the budget or to help those in dire need - those who don't even have money to pay for utilities or food.
Words, excuses, are falling on deaf ears, because we, the public, are tired of hearing the lies coming from city hall and politicians.
