Leaving All Behind Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Leaving All Behind

Reaching shores of life, stepping onto them,
walking through warm sand, thinking of the
life I have already lived for sixty four years.

Knowledge and wisdom that has accumulated
through moments lived, all of it learned from
experience and living, giving an expectation
of intellectual expertise.

Yet, when finally walking onto a final horizon,
leaving it all behind me.
