Just Think! Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Just Think!

Just Think!

If there were no government
And I wish there were not
For this democracy a sham
Elections a joke, a game
Media a circus for recreation
And government an imposition
I apologize for upsetting your fragile mind
With thoughts beyond that of a child
To break free of the shackles of government
Is what I am talking about
In which I see a new evolution
Of how to lead life be the solution
Government is something not to brag about
Indeed it is an insult
Its existence says you are still barbarous
And civilization has not happened since
Otherwise what is the need
Of a government to rule you indeed
Not that I don't want medicines
I am against sickness of things
That makes medicines necessary
Rather I like a healthier humanity
I emphasize raise your consciousness
To the point governments become useless
Of course of their own accord
And not because of you as chaos and discord
And to the point that courts start closing
And that police start disappearing
Let people be ready first
In them good values to inculcate
Then governments will evaporate like dewdrops
In the early morning sun of greatness
But till that moment comes
Needed are the governments
They are fulfilling a certain need
And man is so barbarous, so ugly, he needs to be prevented
I am not against government
I am against the need for government
I am not against courts
I am against the need for courts
I wish human society
To become a harmonious beauty
A vast commune
All around the world live together as one
People meditate with great silence and serenity
Rejoice, dance, and sing without being guilty
And someday, sometime we will be able
To live without any control-religious or political
Because we will be a discipline unto ourselves
By raising our consciousness to that point- a possibility perhaps

Human civilizations for long has nurtured Utopian dreams about society, Deepakji. So, let me say it in Hindi, ' Aap ki mukh may ghee shakkar, ' Enjoyed it.

Discipline should come from within..... if we all rise to that level, there is no need of any external authority! But as far as man is essentially a beast and doesn't know how to control himself, some power to put reins on him is necessary, though all governments have disappointed us in one way or the other. Here aren't your thoughts a little utopean, Deepak?

A Beautiful, thought provoking poem. Very true said, Not that I don't want medicines I am against sickness of things That makes medicines necessary Rather I like a healthier humanity If the life was really free from anger, hatred, jealousy, power, name, fame, money, really the life would be happier to live. Unfortunately, we are not blessed to live a healthier life. Beautiful presentation. Loved reading each lines.
